If Canada can do it fairly, so can USA.
Canada took up the Metric system in the 1970s. In the US, we still haven't figured out how far a Meter is or how warm is a centigrade.
Canada got rid of one dollar bills in 1989, and pennie coins in 2012. Here in the USA we still haven't gotten used to 1 dollar coins, and for some reason we are foolish enough to keep our pennies.

I hope we figure it out over here, but, the precedent is that, If Canada can do it, the USA probably won't be able to figure it out....

Dems can't afford to be seen as undermining democracy, which is what you suggest. When we do, we're really are "just as bad", regardless of our motives. If we don't hold to the principles of democracy then we won't have it.
That's unilateral surrender, exactly what Republican vermin wants from Democrats. Destroy GOP first, then be nice.

Oh please. The game is gerrymandering, so we have to play it. The way to reform it is to change SCOTUS or make them beg for mercy, not to worry about the "both sides" morons.

"all agree that an election by districts would be best if it could be general: but while 10. states chuse either by their legislatures or by a general ticket, it is folly & worse than folly for the other 6. not to do it." -- Thomas Jefferson

He wasn't talking about gerrymandering. Try again.
