ITT people who could find "figgy pudding" on Google in two seconds waste some Friday time.

Btw, "pudding" in Merry Oulde Angleland just meant anything sweet that you would eat for desert.
 
The more modern definition of pudding refers to sweet desserts, but originally it could mean a sweet or savory dish.

I meant the archaic sense of the word, but I was unclear. There were savory puddings, but the point I wanted to make is that it wasn't always (or maybe ever) pudding the way we thing of it, i.e. chocolate pudding and vanilla pudding. They could be more like cakes.
 
It's OK, not as good as proper Xmas pudding though. The wife made ours about a month or so ago. Takes bloody ages.


And stop dissing black pudding, it's awesome. :colbert:
