Fiery CPU

As if the CPU I'm running isn't crappy enough, it's running at 65 C. I can't really buy anything else right now as far as a heatsink or fan, but I'm worried that it might melt lol.. then again I've run it the same way for two years.. but is there any way I might be able to lower the heat?

what cpu is it?

1. clean the dust out of the hsf.
2. tidy up cables for more airflow.
3. add another fan, they're cheap
4. apply some as5 to the cpu, without breaking it like a lot of people do when removing the hsf
5. maybe theres something more but i dont know what kind of cpu you have so, i cant say.

Since you cleaned it a week ago i would suggest you check the thermal goo on the CPU & heatsink and maybe apply some as5 as theman suggested. Its a duron 1.2 which says its old and you removed the HSF (some say that you should always put on new thermal goo whenever you do this but i wouldnt bother) which could cause the goo too lose proper contact with the CPU.
