I tried a similar desk, but I found it wasn't as stable as a full wooden/steel desk. You guys might want to try it in the store first. Or maybe it was the desk I tried.

Got this desk couple month ago for $80 w/ $20off100 coupon. Very sturdy. I have Samsung 955df, sony hs94p, samsung 193p and AMS gCube sitting on top. Only complain I have is I cant get the 3 piece of glass to be all leveled.

Wow. a 19" monitor on the glass ? I'd be afraid to put something like that on it.
What if the glass breaks ?

Looks decent. A while ago I got a similar desk, the Futura L shaped blue tempered glass one from omax for 120 shipped. Usually 200, had it on sale in my circular for 150, ordered by phone and applied a 30 off 150.

For a while I used a 19" CRT with no problems, using a 2001FP now. I think the desk is rated to hold 75 lbs.

I had this desk at my last job (late last year). It's a POS and so not stable. I was fortunate enough to have a 1901FP.....but I'd be scared as hell to put a CRT on it.

I have the Futura Desk as well. It's more than sturdy for my needs.

However be careful on how much space you think you'll need to put the whole thing in one place.

I had to split mine & store the corner piece. :(

got a desk very similiar to this from OM last summer works great, got a 19" & 17" CRT on one pane of glass, very sturdy. Tempered glass is very hard to break, with two supports running parallel, it could probably hold more!

I own this as well, but am hesitant to put my two 21" Trinitrons on it... tempered or not, I'd be a lot more comfortable if the glass was maybe 50% thicker... any other experience with how much weight these handle safely in actual practice?

I'm definately not an expert on glass but read this Glass linky

RECALL: Tempered glass: 15,000 PSI must be exceeded.
Annealed glass: 400 PSI must be exceeded.

I am more worried about the supports holding the glass than the glass itself.

The glass is reccomended to hold 45lbs on the two ends and 35lbs in corner. I have this desk at home. It's been good to me. Glass cleans well , and looks amazing.

Tempered glass = strong, I get it.
But tempered glass that's only 5mm thick?

Tensile strength may be a better measurement.

Exactly what I was thinking why I decided not to put even one of my Trinitrons on it. Definitely more than the 45lbs someone rated it at above.
