FIC AD11

🙁

I have a FIC AD11 motherboard and I have had nothing but trouble with it. I am using an ATI Radeon VE 32 MB DDR video card and it even crashes when I play 2D games. Sometimes the system goes into sleep mode and it will not start again. Then if you don't reboot after that, it crashes after a while.

Don't buy this motherboard.

I should of just stuck with an ASUS motherboard. I am tired of the junk people make that doesnt work that gets a good review and wins an award. When they test these boards they need to pick 10 of them off a shelf somewhere and then test them, not just take one the company has sent out to test it.

Stats:
FIC AD11
AMD 1.2 Gig Processor
On-Board Sound.
ATI Radeon VE 32 MB DDR
Enlight 3273 Case with the AMD 300 W power supply
MICRON PC2100 DDR 128 MB

I may never buy another AMD board again.

🙁

Welcome to Anantech...

Sorry to hear about your motherboard plights... well you never know how a product will come out, but dont get your hopes down... if your in the market for stable mobo solution click Here! and Here!! This should send you back to happy land... I mean Can the Pentium 3 ever die?? I hope not. (Stay away from P4)

Well for AMD... I'd go for a ABIT KR7A..beautiful board...Asus A7V266E.. Thats the only way to go for AMD formats.. since you already have a CPU..etc

sorry to hear about that but its not AMD that is doing it. that board is truly a piece of crap. i purchased three of them for some upgrades at work and sent all three back. i cant believe that anyone would even sell that thing anymore. keep your chip and get abit or msi or something. good luck!😉

Back quite a while ago I would only use FIC boards. I had build many around the PA-2013 and everyone is still running strong. I build myself one with the SD-11 and it was so bad I stopped using FIC all together. Looks like that was still a good move.

actually guys, the FIC AD11 is the most stable motherboard for the 760 chipset. Many hardware reviews have proven this, it costs some performance, but I will continue to buy FIC because the AD11 is the only board I haven't been able to crash.

yea, i also have a fic ad11 and i havent had any problems with it at all, maybe some of you that have been having problems have set something wrong in the bios, but this board is very very stable for me. the only thing bad i heard on reviews, is that it runs very hot, so if you want to overclock it, it wouldnt be the best idea, unless you have alot of cooling inside your case, check out this link if yall still think this board is a POS http://www6.tomshardware.com/mainboard/01q3/010806/amd_760-14.html

I have 5 systems running on AD11's, and they are the most stable systems I have ever built. I also have a Soyo dragon+ that is nothing but a pain in the A$$. Most of the hardware sites raved about how great the dragon is, but a quick check to some forums will set you straight. If you have game crashes, it is probably the vid card. Most cards run much better at 2x agp rather than 4x. 4x gives you like 1%, so it is not worth the problems. Mine run great with nvidia cards (GF2,3) but won't run opengl games with the voodoo5. I built one with a radeon AIW, and it seemed ok, but I didn't test it extensively. Make sure the bios is up to date, try switching your memory to a different slot, make sure your vid card is seated really good, make sure you vid drivers are up to date, make sure the vid card is not sharing an IRQ with anything else, make sure you are using the correct chip set drivers (AMD agp driver), etc. Good luck!
