FIC AD11 'soft' restart problem

I just built a computer using a FIC AD11, with approved memory, etc., per
AMD. Works great, except it will not boot from a soft restart
(<CTRL><ALT><DEL> or from Windows via Start->Run->Restart. It goes into
what resembles a sleep mode, but if then I press the restart button on the case,
then it boots. Obviously, it should just restart on its own.

Any ideas? Thx in advance.

I have same problem with 8K7A and HAD same problem with SD-11 from FIC. On the FIC it was when I had the PS/2 keyboard plugged in. Go figure.

I found the answer - there was a conflict with the Netgear FA-312 NIC. Once I removed that card, it works fine. I tried the Netgear in every PCI slot, to no avail. Then I replaced it with a 3Com, and now have no restart problems.

Yep, I had this same exact problem with my Netgear FA311. So frustrating. It actually does not work with the 761 chipset. I sold my NIC on this forum and bought myself a linksys LNE100TX. Works fine now. I tried to tell netgear support, but they just didn't get it. Frustrating until you finally realize it's the NIC, right? My AD11 is stable now as it should be :)

Oh, is that the case?

Man, I hate compatibility problems. I'm going back to the cheapo Realtek NIC. The bad thing is that I could overclock higher with the Netgear NIC.

Yea, I actually had a MSI K7-Master for a bit, did the same exact thing. A few others had problems too...with even a linksys I think, but I guess it's hit & miss. You'll obviously be able to tell when you get a compatiable NIC. My 3COM works well too though with it.
