FIC 503+ USB cable question

rsales

Senior member
I picked up a USB cable but not the FIC one. Instead of one 10 pin connector it has two 5 pin connectors. Should work but not sure which way to plug it on the two 5 pin rows. Took an educated guess but I am afraid to try a USB device and maybe damage the it. It's a Tripplite USB cable model: U212-002. Any suggestions?

The red pins should face the back of the motherboard. Facing the same direction as the PCI/ISA expansion board cutouts on the case. The pin closest to that side is pin 1.

P.S. I had the same concerns when I put mine in. Download USBREADY, that will test the USB ports to make sure it works correctly. That gave me the confidence to plug in my digital camera.
