The recovery of potential survivors and cadavers would go much smoother if these people had fiber optic cameras available to them. Perhaps the feds need to keep this kind of equipment handy in case of earthquakes and such?
 
from what I heard on tv, they are using them already in addition to listening devices -- but then again the news seems to get a lot of stuff mixed up lately, so I can't say for sure 🙂.
