Although Fiat will retain control of Ferrari after the listing, there are suggestions among experts that the parent company may be forced to sell Fiat Auto, its core car-making business, to General Motors.
This isnt a done deal yet. It says some experts think they MAY be forced to sell. All this news is saying for now ...is it seems Fiat is listing two parts of their company so people can buy share into them which would help Fait's overall balance sheet.
GM already own 20 percent of Fiat Auto, and there is an agreement in place allowing Fiat to sell its subsidiary entirely to the automotive behemoth.
This agreement was more than likely struck when GM bought a position into them. Fait has the right to sell its subsidiary to GM, but they havent.
Fait has not sold Ferrari to GM. Might wanna change the title.
