Be sure to get the super fine print on the rebates. Some say "$0" down when it's really $2500 out of pocket with a rebate that is provided several weeks later.
 
They are factoring in the $2500 CA state rebate, plus it says you must qualify for "lease conquest" otherwise you will pay more. 10k miles/year plus $395 when you give it back.

I wouldn't drive another Fiat (or any other Chrysler) even if it was $0 a month. Without question, the Fiat 500 is the biggest POS I've ever owned. My wife just had to have it; she hated it within months, and it was in the shop more times than I could count.

We traded it in a couple of months ago -- on a Fusion. The build quality on the Ford is so much better, it's not even funny.
 
The electric ones are quite reliable. I have a few friends with these that I recommended to them when there were deals like this before. At one point they had them for $79/mo and my friend got his, his payment was actually more like $120. But whatever. Still super cheap. It's got a warranty and as an electric car there's wayyy less to go wrong. I say go for it.

Build quality is rather poor on these but they look cool (women love them!) and they're pretty fun to drive.

i looked more in detail, and you are correct. its actually around $6000 necessary up front. the california rebate comes back later in a few months.

i might still go and check it out anyhow.

May also want to look at the Smart Electric Drive (ED) - Much higher build quality than Fiat as it is a Daimler product and manufactured in Europe. The ED has an 87 mile range.

Got very good reviews as it removes the clunky transmission and rebates are huge. I know you can get one with under 1,000 miles for about $10K as the dealers bought them, took the rebates, and are now reselling them.
