She is getting her wisdom teeth pulled on Friday and we're going grocery shopping after work today. Anyone have ideas on things we can buy for her that she can eat? Needs to be soft... require little chewing/tongue mashing....

So far I was thinking:

Mashed potatoes w/ gravy
Mac N Cheese (slightly over cooked)
Jello
Pudding
Pureed Carrots (I make these homeade and they are delicious)
Apple sauce

Any other suggestions?

Oatmeal
Milkshakes (use a spoon)
Ice Cream
Congee
Meal replacement drinks

I am sure someone is going to post something with sexual innuendo.

Porridge?

I'd suggest nothing hot or very cold.
For the rest it depends on how they have to be removed. So far one of mine had to be removed (it broke when eating a piece of candy), and it came out cleanly once the dentist used a bit of force. My mother however needed surgery to remove hers. And that's a tiny bit less pleasant.

When I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled, I ate ice cream, jello and pudding for a week.

mashed potatoes, jello, pudding, apple sauce, malt-o-meal (maybe oatmeal, but I wouldn't recommend it), ice cream. Pretty much anything in liquid or gelatinous form. should be able to ease back into regular eating in a few days.

When I had my four pulled, I ignored everything the doctor said and smoked and drank through the entire healing process (I was 19..). I had no issues.

Smoothie King.

Though it contradicts the above, I'd agree with no hot/cold for at least a day or two.

I recovered quickly (over a weekend, basically), but mine weren't impacted.

No straws, hard coughing, or rinsing out the mouth. Don't fuck with those blood clots, or she will be in a world of pain when dry socket develops. I know you didn't ask for this, but I'm giving it to you anyway.

I ate Taco Bell the day after I had all four of mine out (two pulled, and two were broken up into tiny pieces because they were impacted)

Are you implying that frogs are somehow the master species because of their ability to eat tacos the day after wisdom teeth removal?

Am I really going to be the first one to post an obvious dirty comment regarding this situation?

Well, it's really just another bit of evidence.

She can eat the night of day one if she feels like it. I started eating solid food by the next day. Yes, I had 4 holes in my mouth, but I still had a full set of working teeth. Just learn to chew with everything but your molars, and you'll be fine.

ask the dentist?

I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled at about 23-24...I was back to the office that morning a little after 9am, I ate my normal lunch.

The worst part of it was the amount of blood that just kept coming out of my mouth and since I was still numb I had no idea.

I had to take my keyboard to the restroom and rinse in out.

I was supposed to not go back to the office though, dentist's orders.

I went to sleep, biting down on gauze in my mouth right after I came home. The funniest thing is that I walked home from the dentist's office (1.5 klicks). I looked so stoned at the pharmacy...
