You could always quit MMO's altogether... MMO's are counterproductive in every way, lol.

I'm holding out for the new combat system in Vanguard, but slowly it seems to be shaping up into a flop of EQ2 proportions.

Well Sony is involved now, so... yeahI'm not even considering it anymore.

As a publisher only. They have no control over content. Yet. Even if they weren't involved, nothing new has been presented and my interest has waned.
Also they are not supporting EverQuest II anymore because it was a BIG FLOP and now they are going back to EverQuest I and remaking the entire game into a newer version of EverQuest I.

FFXI is fine if you
1. Don't plan on soloing, well maybe past the first 10 levels. It's impossible to solo freakin Evens!
2. Can speak Japanese
3. Expect to spend most of your time killing the same group of monsters over and over cause there is nothing else to do.
4. Plan on purchasing Gil, the market is so inflated now, non gil buying people can't afford crap off the AH
5. Have the same group of friends you play with who will always show up; if one of you get behind a couple levels your party won't get experience for crap.
6. Enjoy getting 100xp forever
My recommendation is check out Dark Age of Camelot. The RVR alone is worth it.

Not true at all I am currently a 71 Beastmaster and have solo'd the whole way. Depends what you are looking for, I have limited time as well. So I play when i want for as long as I have time. Now if you pick a different job then yes, soloing is hell and you most likely will need to level up in parties. Not that its a bad thing but it makes it hard if you have a pretty busy schedule.

My personal MMOcrack of choice is City of Villains. I <3 the character creator. Leveling can be slow, but when you get in on an 8 person team, it goes by in a breeze.
Do they ever have free trials for that game? I was bored last weekend and wanted to try it out but they required a purchase. I am done buy games I havent tried out before hand.

don't bother. its garbage. its complete grinding. no story at all, all the quests and mobs are literally the same.
I've been playing the "Good Vs. Evil" (CoH+CoV) trial for a week now, and I ordered the real thing on Saturday and am anxiously awaiting its delivery tomorrow. My experience so far has been nothing like you described, of course I've only reached level eight as I've been testing different types of characters to see what I liked.Originally posted by: pontifex
