It is a pity that if any Final Fantasy were to be remade, it would be VII. That is, in my opinion, the beginning of the end for that series.

Now, if they did a remake of FFVI...I'd kill newborns for that...

Nintendo honestly didn't show much next-gen stuff at their press conference. They did show a Zelda demo that supposedly had many attendees wetting and splooging their pants.

OMG! yes. VI. Please. That'd be soooo good.

Best FF EVER. Followed by VII and... by VIII.

I was playing IX as my first FF before I got sidetracked. It was pretty fun to a FF n00b like me, and would look much better with the PS1 ultra-low polygon models upgraded.

I personally can't decide between 7,8 and 3....too difficult for me.

But i don't want to see FF7 remade...if you want to play the game go back and buy it off ebay for like 10 bucks and enjoy it. Don't let the polygonal characters annoy you (that and the backgrounds are absolutely beautiful) because there is a great story beyind it.

Actually I think that FFIX is by far the best PS Final Fantasy...it's the only one that at least barely ressembles the SNES ones, back when you actually played them, instead of just watching overproduced CG cutscenes.

I hate FFVII and VIII with a passion, as they ruined the franchise. FFVI is my favorite game of all time and it is a pity that after the PS move the series became little more than pseudo-interactive CG animé with corny dialogue, annoying, ADD-ridden, spikey haired kids as heroes and almost non existent gameplay.

blah blah, cant stand when people sit there and put them down because its not 'old school' enough for them. i enjoyed ff7-10 and currently play 11 regularly. the storyline in 7 blew me away, as did 10. if you want to stick to your old generation because they have no FMV's thats fine :)

i don't want them to make any cahnges, i want the game to be 100% the same with updates graphics and tweaked sound/music

It's not about the game being old school or not, it's about FFVII and VIII being very simplified when compared to the previous entries: In FFVIII you don't even have armor or level anymore and all the characters are the same in battle. The entire game is story driven, not gameplay driven. I play games because of their gameplay, not their story. If I wanted to read a good story I'll pick up Dosteievsky, not some sappy and poorly translated love story.

But anyway, to each its own, I guess. It's a matter of opinion in the end.

You mean followed by FF4 and FF5. I'd go as far as to say FF6 was only slightly better than FF4.
