Who is at fault here?

  • You hit my door, bro - party foul!

  • Next time I'll slice your whole fucking car in half!

  • Is that a llama?

i had something like that happen once. in line at a concert where they were directing people in unmarked lots and people parking one next to another. car in front of me was a camaro and some old hag was driving and her shitty ass kid pops the passenger door open as soon as she hits the brakes to stop. pulling in next to it in the trunk and catch the edge of the door with the bumper. puts about a 2 inch deep crease in the bumper and i drive the door into the door jam enough that they could barely close it.

Were you entirely within your lane when you dislocated that thing? If so, his fault.

Though I think the llama is to blame. Shifty little fucker. She's waiting for her ham.

Well the situation is resolved, and Geico's resolution is a HUGE surprise.

My total damage = $544
My deductible = $500

Thanks Geico for picking up that extra $44 - now I can afford to take the family to Olive Garden tonight.

Few days ago, the adjuster tells me she's 99% sure it's the other guy's fault, meaning his policy should reimburse my deductible.

Yesterday evening... not so much. We both have Geico, adjuster lady calls me and gives me the spiel about how she doesn't think the other policy will pay and since we're friends, Geico will graciously record the accident as nobody's fault.

This way, Geico gets to keep both of our deductibles, and my insurance probably will not go up at renewal time.

Just glad I got to eat the most expensive gyro platter I've ever eaten. $500 for chicken and a glass of coke. Yummmm.

Yeah, that's why I'm getting rid of collision/comp as soon as my car is paid off (2 or 3 months). What a scam.

Bad idea to report that to Geico. Now that goes on your accident history and likely will result is higher rates. BTW great picture.

I didn't. Other guy called his insurer (Geico) when the repair shop told him it would be about $2000 to replace his door. He then gave them my phone number/info and Geico figured it out themselves.

Lets just say I was less than happy about him giving my information out.

Does he live near you? Or, on the way to the dog park. I think he's earned at least a year of great dane shit on his lawn...

Ah missed that. Both your rates are gonna go up. They are just trying to basically say we can't say for sure but we think both of you are at fault... give us more money.
