FF closes without warning?

This is about the 5th time this has happened. I'm either in the menu system or clicking a link (never when i'm idle), and firefox suddently disappears. So I'm like WTFO and i Alt-tab to look for it, and it's gone. TaskManager reports that it is indeed closed. TBE occasionally recovers the tabs i was looking at, but the whole thing is incredibly annoying. Anyone else experience this?

I'm running v0.9 so it could be addressed in 0.9.2. Can i upgrade to 0.9.2 without having to disable all extensions and then reinstall them all over again? That upgrade process is a pain in the ass...

Also-- the microsoft/FF fix in the sticky in this forum....is that addressed in windows update? Because i couldn't find anything that said windows update took care of it, but that would be stupid to not distribute it as an automatic update...

Sounds like it's crashing. Mine does every few days (I run it for that long).

As far as windows update.. it distributes microsoft's fixes for their products. Firefox is the competition. Or do you mean the core problem in windows? I dunno about them fixing that, but vulnerabilities similar to ff's were found in other windows apps recently.

Unfortunately, extensions are not uninstalled when you upgrade FF.
I went from 0.9 to 0.91 to 0.92 and I STILL have TBE, which bogs down FF and really p!sses me off, and there's no option to uninstall it.

So I think you should be safe in keeping all your extensions.

i wouldn't mind it crashing all tha much, but when it does, it clears out the tab sessions so that i cant even get my tabs back...it sucks when i have like 20 of em open.

Weird, FF has never crashed for me.

Try backing up your bookmarks and then deleting all the preferences. Works well for Linux, don't know for Windows, though.

Could be a plugin problem, maybe java? Or flash? Can you recreate the problem, make it crash?
