Few Questions

1. You can get an adapter here.
2. If you want to play CD's from your DVD ROM drive, they you will need to connect an audio cable to your mobo or to your soundcard

Ah, thank you

I'm looking at these 2 products

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16812201001

The 20-24 pin coverter seems staight forward, hopefully it works

but a couple quesitons about the audio cable...

"For connecting CD-ROM/ CDRW/ DVD to Sound Card."

Does that meen these arn't for DVD burners, just the DVD drive?

And I have on board audio, does it still go in the sound card or on the motherboard - havn't even looking for a sound card on the mobo yet.

Not anymore you don't 😕

AFAIK, that hasn't been necessary for years now (with Win XP).

I did not do anything like that, I would just ignore it. I have no problem playing anything with my drive.

Oh, so the ribbons is all I need I guess, sounds good.

Do you think the 20-24 pin connecter could be found in stores, radioshack, best buy and what not.

It would be a bummer delay the build for half a week to get on little part

It wasn't even nescessary in MS-DOS

Guess the computer is all built then🙂

There are still tons of unused cables attached to the psu, wrap them up?
Stick them in an empty cage?😕

Is it not old?
The few times I checked that guide it didn't help much as he seems to be using old hardware (no AM2, using floppys, ect...)

The 24 to 20pin adapter is not necessary, just plug the 20pin in leaving four pins on one end open. the 20pin is rounded on the top corners so it will only go in one way, you would really have to force it to get it to go in the wrong way.

Na no watercooling

BTW: All the parts are aprt together, tommorrow I'm going to have someone inspect it and then hopefully Windows goes smooth
