Hello :) I have a few questions since I think my computer could be running better then what it is now :)

Specs:
Asus A8n-SLI Deluxe
2 BFG 6800 Ultras
1GB PC3200 DDR Ram
Sound Blaster Audigy
2x Maxtor DiamondMax 10 200GB drives
Bios Version 1006

1. I have a external hard drive and when I plug it in i see this message and after that I get a popup

I think its because of usb2.0 because I noticed that it takes extremely long to move files from the external hard drive to my computer.

2. the little fan near my video cards died about a week ago and I have a 120mm fan blowing right on it and someone told me that this would be fine for it but I only wanted it to be a temp fix. I've been looking through the thread about the other choices and I would rather replace it with a heatsink if possible. Right now I know of nothing that would fit with the huge cooling from the 6800 Ultra that would cool it without any problems.

3. I am just curious if there are any settings i should enableor anything I should make sure is installed to make sure I get the most performance out of my system incase I missed anything

1) Did you install the USB 2 drivers?
2) What fan are you talking about? The one on the card, the northbridge one, a case fan?
3) You just need to install motherboard drivers, vid card drivers, the newest DX, and windows updates.

That's the fan for the northbridge. Make sure its plugged in all the way, and then try uninstalling all temp monitor programs you have installed. This helped me on my old board, my northbridge fan wouldn't spin either.

theres a HUGE thread (or 2) on the NB fan. I ended up using the easiest/cheapest option, which turned out to be the best as well in my case. I just unscrewed all the junk on the heatsink, and placed a new 4cm fandirectly on the heatsink. This will add 5 or 10 mm hieght to the original heatsink, and no change in the width/breadth. I didn't bother with finding screws/washers to fit, just used some twist ties to secure it to the pushpins. The temp acyual dropped a lot from the stock fan, and I can:t hear it due to the lower RPMs and better quality.
