I've just installed an MSI P35 NEO2FR and I have 2 questions.

1. I can't seem to find anywhere in the cell menu to change the Command Rate of my memory, I had my G.Skill DDR2-800 2X1mb running at 4-4-4-11-1T on my old ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA and I can get my memory to run at 4-4-4-14-2T on this board.

2. Do I need to install the Intel raid drivers even though I'm using my drive in non-raid mode. I ask as my substained rate has gone from 41Mb down to 31Mb on this intel board. The drive is plugged into SATA1 on the intel controller.

Thanks

Well I've changed the sata from IDE to AHCI after installing the AHCI drivers and thats helped a little. My drive is now at about 37Mb from 31. I still cant see VIA's SATA controller being faster than intels though :( . Although this is an older 160Gig drive it was getting 41Mb on the Via Mobo.

As to the memory, I have already put it on disable, thats how I got my mem to 4-4-4-14 Look at this pick of the cell menu http://img218.imageshack.us/im.../9818/mp35frb05ul0.jpg
And you'll see there is no command rate (CR) adjustment.

I'm guessing you are referring to 1T or 2T adjustment, I am not sure how to do that.

With regard to 1T adjustment- Maybe try a later BIOS to see if there is nay command rate adjustment, either that or maybe MSI have a Beta BIOS on their ftp site- send them an email they are usually very quick (24 hours for me).

I even tried MemSet35beta.exe and although it shows either 1T or 2T for CR you cant change it. You can however change everything else.

I have not tried to change CR, but from what I'ver read, it cannot be changed on a P35 board. I may wrong and someone fell free to correct me if I am.

There is no point changing 1T/2T on a P35 chipset so forget about it :) It simply does not work as I've understood from other forums.
