2. I have my 2 memory sticks in DIMMs 3 and 4 cause 1&2 are too close to the CPU. Somewhere in the manual guide it says that in order to activate Cool'n Quiet it's recommended to use DIMM1 for stability purposes. What should I do? Is C'nQ worth it?
3. How do I setup the nvidia firewall? What software do I need?
...more questions to come
(1) You can downlaod and configure MBM 5 (Motherboard Monitor 5) if you want to be able to read the NB temp. Although MBM 5 is no longer supported (and, in fact the K8N Neo2 WAS NEVER listed as being supported at all) MBM 5 works with the K8N Neo2 board. I'm running it right now.
Download MBM 5 at the MBM 5 HomeSite:
http://mbm.livewiredev.com/
Configure the Sensors as follows:
Case Temperature Sensor = WinBond 1
CPU Temperature Sensor = WinBond 2 Diode
NB Temperature Sensor = WinBond 3
(2) What do you mean by youe memory sticks being "too close to the CPU"? Does your CPU Cooler interfere with placement in DIMMS 1 & 2? Cool' N' Quiet seems to work well at underclocking the CPU (thus running your chip at lower voltage and keeping it cool) so as long as you are not going to overclock your CPU I recommend using it since you really only need the full power of the CPU for 3D games and 3D applications.
(3) If you want to run the Nvidia software firewall you can download and install the latest version automatically by running MSI Live Monitor. If you don't have this installed already, install Live Monitor off the CD that came with your K8N Neo2, then update to the latest version of Live Monitor (and Live Update). However, a software firewall is only an added measure over a "hardware firewall" such as a router, so it should be used in conjunction with a hardware-based firewall.
Good luck and hope this helps.
