Does ATi DVD Player launches at all? If not, try re-installing it. Also check ATI homepage for an updated driver for your Vivo. If the software launches, does it recognize the DVD drive? Does it play it initially and stop? Or it won't even play a DVD Movie and gives you an error? Check make sure the Region Setting is correct for the DVD you're playing.

Which temp monitoring program are you using. There's no way your cpu temp can be 14c unless you're in Alaska.

Update to the latest BIOS, it might fix the temp monitor problem. Though Asus boards are known to have problems with the temperature readings.

DVD playback has been broken in the last few beta releases. Try an older version.
