Few pics from my recent trip to Israel

thepresence

I'm very jealous of your travels to Israel, it's one of the few places I've not ever lived. Did you take more pictures than the ones posted?

What were your impressions of the contry and its people?

Thank you for posting the pictures.

I literally have thousands of pics of Israel.
I have lived there and I travel there often.
I love the place.

-3 for no pictures of hot chicks (this is ATOT after all)

🙂

If I post pics of cool guns, does that get me anything? 😉

Unless the pics have hot Israel chicks in uniform/guns with the sign..."Hello ATOT" 😀

nice. cool pics. I was looking at this pic and wondering how the pic could have been better had there been less haze. Might be able to see the background. I saved the pic to my desktop and played with the highlight/shadow tool in photoshop a little bit, and was surprised to see that there are mountains in the background. You can kinda see the outline of the mountain in the original pic but at first glance, I thought the water opens into a sea. Had no clue there were mountains in the back.
see what i mean?. shadow at 2%, highlight at 30%. this is a really cool tool in photoshop

see what i mean?

That looks good, thanks. I used a polarizer on that shot, but it wouldn't cut through the haze in the desert.
I didn't work on these pics, just resized them.
That's the dead sea. Those mountains are in Jordan actually.

yea i figured you didnt work on these pics. You can probably do a much better job of post processing these pics than I can (IIRC you're a graphic designer with much PS experience). I never knew about the shadow/highlight tool until about 2 months ago. I'm aways amazed at how much detail you can bring out from the pic by playing with that tool.

I'm with you on that haze comment. Although haze can sometimes work for you, but most of the times I hate it for landscape shots. Did you take that pic in the afternoon? Usually haze is at its minimum in the morning. But I can imagine conditions being much different in a desert

Yeah, it was afternoon, not the best time for pics in general. The morning there is so foggy or hazy you can barely see anything.
