Ferrite Cores

On the cables (both ends) that delivers the signal, typically a 15 pin VGA cable. Maybe on a DVI-A cable too, I don't think they can help a digital signal.
 
It should be in the manual. I set up a Plasma HDTV that came with two sets of these; one set for the power cable and another for the D-sub cable.

 
Believe it or not I can't see where in the manual they mention it. It's a short manual, mostly about the remote. I have one on the power cable but I only use an HD component cable for my xbox, should I put one on there? Thanks for the help.
