Ferretts are illegal here in CA....

So yeah ferretts are illegal for some stupid reason.

So...I'm not sure why I can go into the local Petsmart and they have pictures of ferretts with ferrett food and stuff....what gives? If they are illegal why can we buy food for them? Someday I am going to move out of this state =/

Why was the consumption of alcohol in Canada prohibited during Prohibition while the production of it was not?

I guess Petsmart assumes that even though ferrets are illegal, ferret food is not and since people will bring these pets into the state and/or breed them illegally then Petsmart will profit from it. Quite honestly I don't see why this surprises you. They aren't doing anything illegal.

What on earth this has to do with CA is also beyond me. Have you ever lived in any of the other screwball states in this country? 😕

because there are many more purposes for alcohol than consumption.

Why didn't the US allow it?

Because the U.S. became very very conservative in the 20s.

They did. Wine was produced for religious ceremonies.
