All Marshall's ferrets are spayed/neutered and descented before they get to the pet store. I disagree with some of their practices, but that's besides the point. If you get a ferret from a reputable breeder, it may not be descented/fixed. Ferrets that are not fixed so young in life (Marshalls are fixed too young) generally tend to be bigger.
