i saw a black 360 modena cruising in Campbell, CA next to ebay last night on my way home. i caught it out of the corner of my eye and my heart started racing before i even knew what was going on. it was like my unconscious mind was getting excited ("pretty thing!") before my eyes could even focus on it.

then i looked at it and got the butterflies. i mean, the 360 is the "ho-hum" ferarri, but DAMN it looks amazing in person. it's just a shape that taps into something primal. and it sounded great pulling away from the light.

the only thing that tops that is the Aston Martin DB9 that i saw blowing the doors off a BMW 540i on a freeway onramp (also in Campbell, CA). the exhast note practically tore the earth in two. gotta love silicon valley for cool cars!
 
I don't know, I still think the Porsche 911 is the most beautiful car ever designed. But Ferraris do exude power and speed better than Porsches.
