Who would buy a Ferrari to drive in the snow?!? Lmao. Is Ferrari thinking about getting into the rally race scene? If so what next? NASCAR?

if you were a mega billionaire wouldn't you like not having to switch cars between driving off the ramp of your yacht in monaco, visiting your villa on the italian lakes, and then having clandestine discussions with your fellow billionaires over 50 year old scotch in davos in a blizzard?

Russians oil magnates. New York banksters. There are plenty of loaded people who live in snowy climates who would drive AWD supercars.

Is Veyron in rally racing, how about Murcielago? AWD doesn't mean it's aiming for rally racing.

Meh. The hood is too long for the body. I think hatchbacks look better with shorter noses, like the Mazda 3 or Subaru Impreza. If you want to see a properly proportioned exotic, check out the McLaren MP4-12C.

1. Reminds me a bit of a Ferrari-ized version of the BMW Z3 coupe, which I always thought was rather ugly.
2. They just need to add another set of doors and call it the Ferrari Panamerica.

More details out of the Geneva Auto Show:
Stating that it is the most powerful and the most versatile car it has ever built, Ferrari debuted the new FF at Geneva, the first-ever four-wheel-drive Ferrari. Using a direct-injection gasoline V12 engine of 6.3 liters making a towering 660 hp and part-time all-wheel-drive, the FF can sprint to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and go on to a top speed of 209 mph. Ferrari CEO, Amadeo Felisa said that the legendary sports car maker asked itself ‘what should be the configuration of this next 2+2?'

"This needed to be a 2+2 for all conditions," Felisa told us. "That meant four-wheel-drive. Actually, we had already done some research into four-wheel-drive, though the FF's components and design are, in fact, all new."

Power is primarily delivered by the rear wheels, but power can also be transferred to the front wheels when necessary on slippery surfaces. The FF can individually apportion torque to each of the four wheels since all vehicle controls are integrated into a single processing unit.

The FF's design is somewhat controversial, but no one wins awards or hearts by being conservative or timid. Indeed, this design just may be the type that grows on Ferrari fans from all corners.

The FF will also will provide the chassis for a new-generation, V12-engined platform for the future.

Looks a bit weird but also cool. Hard to say.

But yeah the point is, hardly anyone here is going to buy one anyway 😛

I must say, I'm not a huge fan of the looks. Kind of reminds me of a hyper version of the little BMW hatches. Technically it sounds very impressive, though an even more complex Ferrari gives me shudders to think of what the maintenance costs would be for one. Of course the target market is probably shitting gold bricks, so that's not a deal breaker for them 😛

EDIT : Yeah, looking again at it, I definitely see some 'Bangle' in there.

660HP + 4WD and it still takes 3.7secs to 60?

I like the looks though.

From the description, it doesn't sound like AWD launch control is used from a stop, the components probably aren't built out enough to take that kind of abuse. A 'part-time' AWD setup as described only uses the front wheels to assist in poor traction situations on curves and such, not to put down serious power.

I could be totally mistaken, but that's the impression that it gives, as opposed to the balls-out style of the GT-R (ironically faster in the lower benchmarks than this!), STI, and similar. This might be something more like the Acura version of AWD.

I like it, although its definitely not perfect.

I'm still surprised that Ferrari is making this. The people that wanted an AWD Ferrari wanted something outright performance oriented or an SUV, and this is neither. Then again, this is probably a better 4 passenger Ferrari than the California or 612. Plus, I'm sure there's plenty of people that would want an all-weather and/or daily driver Ferrari.

Actually, I'd probably buy this over any current Ferrari because you could drive this every day, but that should never enter into the equation when thinking Ferrari.

Then you really aren't a car enthusiast. :hmm:

If by that you mean I don't like fugly ass cars, then no I'm not. I'd take a Ford GT over that any day of the week. I know they don't make them anymore, and while I don't know numbers on how it matches up with this Ferrari, it's still got a shit ton of power. And I don't think it's ugly.
