so are you absolving the officer from all responsibility and blame here?
If I had to apportion blame, 99% driver and 1% officer.

Perhaps in this case, it's the other way around - why did the Ferrari driver think he was above the law? No front plate. No registration sticker (on the windshield in NY), no inspection sticker (on the windshield in NY.) On trip past any state trooper, sheriff, or local law enforcement officer, and I'd be pulled over and ticketed. "I'm not putting those stickers on MY car, I'm too awesome." Is that the case?It makes me so angry that these police pigs think they can harass people with Ferrari's. Why don't they get a clue and go after people driving Toyota or Honda?
Come on. I thought you had this magnificent IQ. You seriously think that just by coincidence, someone would have already been recording an otherwise boring city street and been lucky enough to capture the first seconds of the interaction?Which leads us to where is the extra footage then?
It's a 2006 M3...last year of the E46 and the competition package which is why I ordered.
But, it's not required in Texas - it is required in NY however.I don't run a front plate either.![]()

Not beyond the law. If you get pulled over by a cop for, say, speeding. But you KNOW you were driving at 34 mph in a 35 mph zone, you CANNOT JUST LEAVE.
Same principle applies. He was getting a ticket. He can't just leave, even if he disagrees.
If the cop identifies himself...what we witnessed on the footage was the cop ignoring the driver.
I am not buying the backstory until that's proven.
Chabbot had parked outside the tony hotel The Mercer on Saturday at about 6 p.m. when a police officer approached and began to write him summonses for parking in a no-parking zone and failing to have a registration or inspection sticker, police sources said.
Chabbott then tried to grab the officers memo book -- and even got into the Ferrari after the cop told him not to, the sources said.
If I had to apportion blame, 99% driver and 1% officer.
Don't be such a dumb ass.
What constitutes "proof" to you? Someone traveling back in time and video taping the first half of the incident? See that "then tried to grab the officer's memo book" part of it? Did you see that on tape?
The spectacle began around 6:15 p.m. on Saturday. According to police and witnesses, Chabbott spotted officer Felix Recio writing the ticket, argued with him and tried to grab his notebook.
no, it's more like this.
driver trying to drive away while cop is issuing a ticket:
100% driver fault, 0% cop
cop sees driver trying to flee and tells him to stop verbally:
100% driver fault, 0% cop
cop clearly sees driver ignore his orders and sticks his foot and leg in front of car/tire instead of just letting him go:
cop is at some fault at this point, lets call it 50%
Just based on the replies from the angry poor here I don't trust their 'witness' accounts.

Not trying to troll, but what exactly do you do that enables you to put yourself on such a pedestal?
I'm very successful for my age, own plenty of nice things, yet I don't feel the need to talk down to those who have less than me.
Just wondering is all.
Curb weight: 1,485 kg (3,274 lb) Yeah, that's pretty much nothing.
Just watched it again. LOL.
"You gonna assault a fucking officer?!"
Yeah, he was clearly meant to assault the officer. That's what assault is yes. The god damn entitlement of these pigs.

The cop is clearly abusing his power, just like all cops do. It should also be noted that he has a firearm, and is therefor fantasizing about ending the driver's life; call it his holy grail, if you will.
The poor soul that owns the Ferrari, who is clearly not a fault, should lawyer up and fight this crime against freedom. What kind of world do we live in where we are expected to respect and obey an officer of the law?
I would also like to add atheism, gun laws, and cats.
