Ferrari F430 Vs Smart Car.

That's like racing a superbike against the ferrari. The smart car will win in a drag race because with that engine and its (lack of) weight it has good acceleration, but on a bigger stretch of road the ferrari would leave it behind.

Having seen multiple Smart Cars on the road (with their fake stuck on twin exhausts), I couldn?t help but muster up a little giggle.

I thought nothing of it until I heard the Smart Car start revving . I?m surprised the engine didn?t rip the Smart Car to pieces.

He still should have hit 12s

He came out hitting a 13.4. If he raced a BMW M3 he would have LOST since they hit 13.3.

The smart car has a pretty much insane engine in it, power to weight ration is totally ridiculous.
Allow me to illustrate.

i'm not saying the smart car sucks i am saying whoever was driving the ferrari sucked.

hmm are they legal in the states? i seem to remember reading that they couldnt pass the safety test.

but i would like to have one for goofing off on. heh

Ya it seems to me like he got carried away with reving his engine and got distracted by the Enzo's awesome roar, I know I would be. Either that or the guys who modded the smart car paid him to give them some advantage so that they can brag how their car beat teh Enzo!

driver skill aside, that's basically a race between a heavy sports car vs a light sports bike. I will pick the bike anytime anywhere..

I wouldn't be so sure about that on a twisty track. Even a bone stock Porsche 911 will beat a R1 round a circuit.

The Porsche isn't really heavy, but it's not light either.

Better example:

999 vs gallardo

Also, the reason for this isn't handling per se, it's that you cannot slow down on a bike like you can in a car. Also, Jeremy Clarkson HATES bikes.

Edit:

After watching that R1 video - that can't cannot ride that well. He isn't pushing the bike nearly hard enough - his knee touched maybe once, also when they show his tach he's never in the right gear. Thumbsdown. Watch the 999 vid for a better comparison

Yeah that's a pretty good example as well. I enjoyed the Mosler MT900 one also.
