I recently purchased the afore mentioned notebook and I must say I am very please with the performance but now that I have had it a while and have started to play with it there doesn?t seem to be an option to boot to an USB thumb drive (or any bootable USB device for that matter). You can boot to a USB floppy but that is still a floppy.
I have checked with Phoenix (BIOS manufacturer) and Acer - they say it can not be done. When I called Acer they said something along the lines of ? ?we received too many calls from users tweaking their BIOS and in the process killing their machine and were spending too much time walking them through repair. So we decided on a stripped down BIOS that can not be configured.?
Granted this is not the end of the world but to me it is something that is just wrong. I would really like to be able to boot to USB devices. Am I just out of luck or can anyone offer any suggestions/advice?
