Fermi delayed

Ehh. At this point a bit of honesty really helps quell the rumor mill.

I just almost puke on the, it really isn't necessary as we have a full product line crap.

They are saying Q2 of 2011!!!!!!!

Is that a typo?
read more carefully because thats Nvidias Fiscal Year 2011 Q2.

Nvidia’s first quarter of fiscal year 2011 began on the 31st of January, 2010, and will likely end on the 30th of April, 2010; the Q2 of FY 2011 will last from May till late July, 2010.

Yep, I just caught that. Time to go to bed.

Makes me more glad I didn't wait or else I'd be waiting forever.

I waited, but I'm not waiting forever. Enough BS from nvidia. First it was last year, then it was first quarter this year. Now it's, "well, we will launch in first quarter, but you wont really be able to buy one until second quarter." This is just precursor BS for "uh, we're another quarter late." I don't care that you're late. I care that you keep BS-ing us about it.

I've always stayed with nvidia cards. I briefly had an ATI X1900. And at one point, I returned an ATI 4870 due to driver issues and got an nvidia. I've ALWAYS come back to nvidia. After all this Fermi crap, I'm done. I'm going out tomorrow and do what the rest of the smart people did and buy an ATI card.

I'm prepared to buy but won't wait longer than mid next month. I've been supportive; but an Asus Matrix or MSI Lightning 5870 will be mine if Fermi's a no go! Here's to hoping one of the three will be available..

meh, who cares? most people that actually want to play games NOW have already went ahead and bought a 5000 series card. People on the fence are the only ones waiting, and since they're on the fence they'll probably continue to wait regardless. If you want to upgrade, upgrade already. If u're just watching, then keep watching. this has'nt changed anything.

Yep, can't wait to see those who will be fortunate enough to get one to scalp it on eBay. Gonna break four digits.

Fermi delayed? Never saw THAT one coming... 😉

Nvidia’s chief executive officer did not provide any concrete timeframes for the transition of the whole lineup to the new Fermi architecture, but said that since the owners of mainstream and entry-level graphics cards hardly demand new functionality, it is not crucial for Nvidia to update currently available “fabulous” graphics chips.
Our current-generation GPUs are fabulous
I think the mainstream GPUs are really fabulous
???? Nvidia currently has "fabulous" graphics chips? Which exactly are those? Unless things have drastically changed in the last 24 hours, Nvidia is getting beaten at nearly every price point.

GF series is ready when it's ready. No launch dates have actually been promised yet. Remember that.
All those saying that they can't wait any longer? Well, that's fine if your current video card exploded and renders your current gaming ability non-existant, or your current card is barely scraping by at low settings pulling minimum frames in your fav game. Other than those two situations, I really can't see how anybody can say they "can't" wait any longer. I think that if you waited this long to see what is what, you're gonna wait more.
Just be patient. It will come when it comes. I'm very excited about it and highly anticipating seeing what GF could do in it's retail state.
Oh, I need to add this. Buy what you want, when you want, if you want.

Wow, you really like Nvidia, don't you? Fermi was supposed to be launched in Q4 09. Q4 is long since past and Fermi is still nowhere to be seen. It's late. Horribly late. It's already 6 months behind the competition and i doubt we'll see a decent ammount of GF100s for sale on March/April release.

The "it will come when it comes"-mentality is weird.

.

How about if you're building a new rig? Could you see where waiting 6+ months for a part to complete said build , might be kind of ridiculous?
