Superstitions just don't seem to go away.
"We can make good things happen to ourselves by rearranging furniture!"

Mhmm, the odds of the universe really care about how your furniture is colored and arranged, or how your house is organized.

"Astronomers were astonished as a comet, which was once on a direct collision course for Earth, suddenly veered off course. It was then noted that at that very instant of the directional deviation, one of the astronomers rotated a chair slightly, which aligned the Feng shui something-or-other-energy-whatever, causing the universe's basic laws to change, preventing the impact.
In other news, this significant alteration of mass interactions caused the Moon to leave its orbit, as has Earth. It is estimated that all water on Earth will freeze within 3 weeks."

Just don't try this shit with motherboards. I wasted a ton of money on this board:

Show them the Penn & Teller Bullshit episode about Feng Shui. It may not convince them that Feng Shui is BS, but hopefully it'll at least prevent them from paying a Feng Shui "expert" to help them.

Has anyone have similar experience with educated people who believes that their lives are determine by stars & the force of nature (astrology)?

Sorry for the poor engrish.

My wife and I always say this to each other when we see it... just can't help it. :D

BTW, you being asian, I don't understand why you're just irritated now. Weren't you irritated with all the superstitious crap your parents put you through?

I just called them Traitors.

And most of the white guys can't tell from a hot asian girl from an ugly one. I usually see ugly Asian girls with white guys. =)

Hmm.. In my experience at UTexas, this is true. The smoking hot Asian girls are always with Asian guys.

That's not nice to call them ugly. You're supposed to use the word "authentic." ;)

The human mind is structured to look for patterns in everything and if the practise of Feng shui ritual satisfies this need , good for them. My opinion is it is just an interior decorater scam.

actually, I agree. Some parts of feng shui are actually quite practical-- something like interior design. For example, they say you shouldn't buy a house/condo directly facing the end of a straight street/drive because its somehow bad luck or something. I don't know about the luck part, there are definitely good reasons why you should follow that advice (cars crashing into your house, headlights at night, etc.) And placing your bed so that the sun doesn't shine on you, etc. All that other crap with mirrors and stuff is going a bit overboard.

Race isn't important to me, but I was flabbergasted when I heard the Feng Shui craps from my brother in-law. I didn't think Caucasian knew about Feng Shui, and what make it worst is that a man who worked in IT preach these non sense.

I think the cause of his downfall was marrying your sister. Then he got exposed to all this asian nonsense and sent him down the bullshit path of Feng Shui. If he had stayed away from your sister he wouldn't be in this mess. :p
