From the females I've talked to (and are happily married) they say that they admitted it to themselves that he was the one after a few months, but feel they've "always known" and such.

From those that are divorced and/or seperated, they said that they married him because they've always been with someone and it just felt right or that they felt too scared to say no/leave him.

Are you married? Did you "always know" and how did it turn out?

I am not married/engaged, but i am in a serious relationship and as i think about it-at one point-all of a sudden, when i looked at him, i knew.

I think a lot of little girls dream about meeting their "one perfect guy" and getting married, and i had that same dream/wish, i knew how i wanted the wedding and what not, but the part that was always uncertain was how the man looked. when i met my current b/f, the groom finally had a face. I know i am corney, but that is when i knew

Instead of "I'm a guy", you could provide a URL to your other poll, for guys.

(Alternatively, you could have combined both polls into one with 4 options :))

Thumper has told me that she knew after about three months. She woke up one morning and looked at me and just knew that I was the one she wanted to wake up next to for the rest of her life.

Took another month before she told me of course, which took me by surprise because me, being a man, am generally clueless as it is. :D

Another month and it will be one year since we first met! w00t! :D :D :D

I dunno. we talk about it sometimes, and i love "looking" at rings in jewelry stores, but i am not gonna push anything. I would consder myself and him, fairly young, so, when the time is right, i hope he will do it! For the longest time though, it seemed everyone around us we getting engaged, and that made me a bit jeleous. It's as though one morning i woke up and there was my 'biological clock' starting to tick;)

Nope, we don't move in together until the end of this month. :D

Then we'll be living in sin! :p

LOL! Actually, that is one reason why she wanted to officially be engaged to me, so when we moved in together she can call me her fiancé. :)

Spring 2004 is the current date, but she's been suggesting that Fall 2003 (maybe October) would be "better". I haven't signed on to that idea yet however... ;)

She wants to buy a house together this summer, but I haven't signed on to that idea yet either.

Is she thinking about a big wedding? It's gonna take more than six months to put together a wedding. I thought we could do ours in a few months, too... I was floored by the amount of time it took to get everything together, though.

Oh dear God, don't get me started...

I have told her she can have whatever kind of wedding she wants, just tell me what to do and when to show up. ;)

Ok, not quite that bad... but truthfully, she has already talked about so many different ideas, I haven't a clue.

That's what I'm sayin. One of my ex's decided to tell me when I was drunk that I was "the one" for her. We'd been dating for a while and after that she changed completely. I told her when she let it slip that I wasn't ready for that serious of a relationship, but she all of a sudden began acting as if we were married. Planned my kids, the wedding, everything out. We broke up less than a month later.

Well, it is no secret that my husband and I have had a very rough time of it. But I remember very clearly the moment I decided he was for me.

We lived in neighboring cities separated by a bridge and he drove this dilapidated 1978 Diesel Rabbit to visit me on a regular basis. One day, after arriving, he told me a hose or something broke on his way over. He made an emergency repair to his engine with a fork and a pair of underwear. I thought, this is the man I want to spend the rest of my life with! Unfortunately, I didn't stop to think that he wasn't just resourceful, he was also an incorrigible slob for actually having a fork and a pair of underwear in his car. :p

Anyway, he is still quite the MacGuyver and he isn't as much of a slob as he used to be. :D

more proof that women think(?) totally different than men, and none of us (men) are ever gonna figure them out.

LOL, well, I was thinking that if he could handle a roadside emergency so well, he would be good at handling the inevitable bumps in the road of life. I was kind of wrong about that. :p What he is good at is fixing things. He is starting to get the hang of dealing with the bumps in life, though. :)

Anyway, I got more than I bargained for. He keeps fixing my ancient washing machine and dryer! They are going to rust away before they actually stop running! I will be an old woman before I have a front loading washer. :frown: The man clearly needs to be stopped. ;)
