Soooo I have this friend (just a friend, never more, never want it to be more). I talk to her several times per week, and we're fairly open with each other. The other day I noticed her myspace (I am really starting to hate that ****** thing) had changed to say 'in a relationship"...ALL I did was comment 'oh you're in a relationship now? Is it with xxxxx? (guy she had dated before)...

Then she starts acting weird. She won't say. She says 'Maybe I am, maybe I'm not...why do YOU care?". I don't, and I don't like her tone either, so I don't talk to her for like a week. Problem is now, EVERY TIME I talk to her now she somehow tries to bring up her dating status up, without saying if she's in a relationship or not. Now I blatantly don't give a crap one way or the other, but I figure this, friends that are comfortable with themselves don't act like basic info about them is confidential information.

Can anyone think of ways around this? Until this, she was a pretty decent friend, but she just pisses me off now, always bringing up whether she is or isn't in a relationship up in every conversation we have. I think she thinks it's a joke, but it's just pissing me off.

Get a girlfriend. Tell your friend about it. Then dump the girlfriend. Or you can sub boyfriend for girlfriend.

If she doesn't like you, just tell her to shut the f up next time she brings it up.

Accipiter Juice: On sale this month at Walmart. $1.99 for a gallon, or $3.00 for two!

With my female friends, I don't ever discuss relationship stuff like I do my guy friends. It gets weird, but having female friends is always a weird thing to work with.

You can get basically the same thing for cut-rate prices if you know where they sell the cheap chinese knockoff stuff in your city ...

Why don't you call her and say "Look, I don't give a rat's *** about you being in a relationship, I was just giving you crap. So stop trying to bring it up in conversation, it's petty. We're not 7th graders."

In a much politer way of course.

I've never understood how a guy could have a platonic relationship with a female. It doesn't make any sense at all, unless you're gay or effeminate. If you have a female friend around, the Laws of Man say that you either want to get in their panties or you wanna argue with them, maybe both. Unless they're extremely ugly or asexual, how can you talk to someone of the opposite sex without thinking about sex? That boggles my mind.

i concur. I have plenty of female friends. I stopped viewing them as semen receptacles years ago. I can actually view them as human beings at this point in my life
