FEMA to test 'Presidential Alert' system next week

I believe this is similar to the "amber alert" warnings many areas use to push to cell phones. It's pretty damn effective at getting people's attention and getting an emergency message out when every cell phone in the room starts blaring an alarm regardless of your sound settings.

The Emergency Alert System is a national public warning system that requires TV and radio broadcasters, cable television systems, wireless cable systems, satellite digital audio radio service providers, direct broadcast satellite service providers and wireline video service providers to offer to the President the communications capability to address the American public during a national emergency. I've got amber alerts turned off on my phone. Too many times I've been woken up at 3am with my phone blaring. I assume for the test of the unable to disable presidential alert, it probably will be at a more reasonable hour.

Good god, they need to make this like the nukes and two (preferably more) people need to concur before he can send out a message.
 
They should just force Twitter on everybody's phones and that will be the presidential emergency response app.

Probably more effective than whatever Hawaii uses. 😛
 
I support this. They should just pipe his twitter posts through the alert system. That'll get people to turn off their phones, and do something productive for a change.

It'll be "this is a warning, the crooked Hilary Democrats acting on orders from the Deep State are on a witch hunt that poses a threat to our country, get your guns and be ready for my orders"

I'm guessing he'll spout shit and claim its part of "national security" like he's done for a bunch of other shit. I'm curious what the system actually is. I would laugh my ass off if he ends up sending some incriminating message thinking he's using his text program or private message on Twitter or some stupid shit like that.
