I got this Fellowes at Best Buy for $10. It's hard, textured plastic. The back says "This is a genuine BRITE-MAT" so I guess Fellowes outsources it. I'm experimenting with baby oil and the liquid in duster cans (the freon or whatever stays in liquid drops when mixed with the oil since it insulates it). So now it's not only hard and textured, but slightly oily. Works great.

Edit: Here is a pic. Yeah, my parents' Mouseman's blue LED is broken.

Well I wiped the pad with a tissue. It's not like it's wet, it's just slightly oily. No more than the oil from your skin.

I have the same mouse! :p
That mouse takes up your whole hand, which means that the bottom of your palm is gonna be rubbing against that baby oil.
