I don't think that DoomIII is CPU limited and as such the boost in your CPU speed did not have an impact. At such high graphics settings it is pure GPU power that is giving you the frames.
 
RIght, Doom 3 is not CPU limited at all, but precaching the demo will give you faster frame rates as the info is already in memory prior to the bmark running. Othewise the benchmark is waiting to transfer data from hdd to memory, etc, while being bmarked.
 
God I wish someone told me about that precaching yesterday! LOL

I sat up til like 2am defragging doing this that and the other thing.

I just reburned my box to find the same stuttering in the timedemo then throw my arms up and come back here and find out all I had to do was toss another digit at the end well at least I can rest now because that was the problem. It was driving me crazy.
