My forehead, emphasized by my receding hairline, has been labeled a hazard by the state for it's ability to blind passing drivers. How do you lessen the shine? It's particularly bad after a fresh washing, so I don't think it's an oil issue - any advice to change my glossy finish forehead to a matte finish? The face cream I use seems to add to the problem once it dries.

wear a turban on ur head and yell "dirka dirka dirka"

That would also help with hiding my hairloss -you're brilliant!

The glare from my bald head helps me get my jump shot off. If I have to, I tap on a little baby powder, then towel off the excess.

Well I'm just a brownie, but I also have shiny skin when I wash with harsh soap. I switched to Biore Pore Perfect Shine Control cream cleanser... it works pretty well, and I've tried a lot of different products.

There's all types of mattifying gels and astringents as well, but so far just the face wash is enough for me.

I have extremely oily skin, so by mid day my forehead is a mirror. I just keep a napkin in my pocket to wipe every once and a while

Baby powder...if you use enough, maybe you can pass as a whitey! :p

Being white is a dream that no amount of listening to the Goo Goo Dolls and watching Queer Eye has helped me attain, so I doubt baby powder will do the trick. Sigh...Maybe one day...One day... Sigh..
Dude, you're getting whitey confused with fairy!

I thought those were the same thing.

hmmm.... oh well, don't mind me.

Just a brownie here.

I have the shinyface thing going on too, but it's clearly not as bad as yours. I just wipe my face every so often with a damp paper or towel or whatever's available and dry it off. Seems to give me a fair amount of relief.

I guess I need to start looking into some of these non-oil facial moisturizers or whatever it is the white people make to avoid this problem. ;)

Try an astringent.

What exactly is an astringent? I always thought that was a fancy term for a face wash. Do you recommend any brands?

Astringents are just alcohol-based face cleaners to made to get rid of oil. You can get the fancy Clinique for Men stuff at macy's, but the wal-mart stuf works damn near as well. If your skin is oily, it works great.
