Hey guys, thanks for all the positive responses. Sorry for not posting it myself as I've been studying for my finals (quarter system) before I graduate this Sunday. Anyway, funny thing was after I woke up the next morning, my dad gave me this to fix the car.

Oh well, back to my studying again (groan).

:D

Probably....... I dont know how many times I count on my way to work you get the female:

1- on cell
2- combing hair
3- lipstick
4- curling her eye lashes
5- smoking

The worst is:

6- All of the above at the same time :)

LOL that dquan97 felt that putting "Fellow ATOTer" in the title instead of "My brother" would likely garner more views to this thread. :)

Glad you're ok MillionaireNextDoor.

PM him at ThousandaireNextDoor.
Expect something in the 50k range, depending on his stay in the hospital. And that's how much he'll actually get AFTER his lawyer gets his/her fees... the amount paid by the other insurance company will be more.

I know because a friend of mine was just in an accident in which he had a few surgeries (glass in his face) including plastic surgeries. He took home $36k. His face will be forever scarred, and he still has glass (it's been a little over a year now) that comes out of his face there. If MillionaireNextDoor goes through physical therapy and actually has a prolonged stay at the hospital (my friend was released the same night), he'll get more than that $36k.

P.S. Women, please stop driving. I don't know... ride a bike or something. 60% of you are terrible drivers and know it, another 20% of you are terrible drivers and swear you aren't. That leaves only 20% of you that actually have some idea of what you're doing.

Update:
My insurance paid $5400 for the property damage, plus $500 for the deductible and $400 for loss of use from the other person's insurance. I have been seeing a chiropractor 3x a week to lessen the pain in the neck and back and icing it because even after a month it still hurts and is pretty stiff. The police report came out and showed that the other driver was completely at fault, and that she admitted it.

Interesting points about the police report:
-She was 17 with a provisional driver's license but the provision doesn't allow night driving
-She broke 10pm curfew by being out at 1am
-She broke a provision by having an underage passenger, also 17yo
-She didn't have adult supervision while driving
-She was cited on the scene
-I have two witnesses, one of whom is an on-duty police lieutenant
-And she admitted she tried to stop at red but couldn't

I was lucky to have so many things that will help my case but I'm even luckier to have my life. If I didn't see her in that split second to slam the accelerator as I did, things would have turned out differently; she would have hit my driver door instead of the rear driver-side one. A week later, I read on the newspaper of some woman who turned a similar left turn and some one rammed into her driver door and killed her. My case could have easily turned into that sad tale.

damn, glad you're feeling better.

And she admitted she tried to stop at red but couldn't

Was there any evidence of her trying to stop? Sounds like a cop out by her.

Yeah, cops measured some skid marks. If she did try to stop, I didn't notice it and neither did my totalled car.

Sounds like she might have been showing off or just trying to get home fast and wasn't paying attention. was the road dry or wet at all? I can't look at the pics at work, so I can't see any of the diagrams or whatnot

Could be. The road was dry and cool, but I couldn't go see the skid marks myself cause I was on a gurney in the ambulance.

What lovely town was this in? I would have anticipated that kind of stupidity in Las Vegas, but anywhere else she needs to fry.

On the topic of women drivers, sometimes it seems like something supernatural rather than a lack of common sense. I have a friend (who's pregnant, which makes things even more on edge) who -- and I'm serious here -- seems to attract idiot drivers towards her car. She waits about 3 seconds after a light turns green to go because about half the time there's some f%$#head blowing through the red at double the speed limit. Or people who seem to forget there's a car in the lane next to them and try to lane change into her trunk. And so on and so forth. It's really quite bizzare.

It was a white coupe, couldn't see the insignia on the car but the report says a 91 camry. But it looked more like a sports car than a camry.

Thanks, rh71. I wish I had photoshop and more time. Being that she only has a provisional permit, DMV prolly won't let her get a license for a few years.
