Feel stupid for asking...

I purchased a new heatsink/fan for my XP 2800+. The heatsink is the SI-97A and the fan is the Panaflo L1BX. I have a Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro 2 motherboard which is a NVIDIA Nforce 2 board.

I am confused as to how this monster gets mounted. Can anyone with a similar motherboard post a picture showing this heatsink mounted in their case? I am not sure how to orient the heatsink on the processor. I am assuming that the orientation matters. Do the pipes on the bottom of the heatsink get pointed towards the top of the case, or towards my AGP slot? I installed the heatsink/fan last night and my CPU temperatures kept rising to the point that the computer shut off. I applied thermal paste and removed the paste that was on the processor from my orignal heatsink. When I removed the SI-97A and put the stock heatsink back on, everything worked okay.

I feel kinda stuipd asking such a beginner's question, but for some reason I can't make sense out of the included directions.

Thanks🙂

According to this link, this heatsink is not compatible with my motherboard. Can someone offer advice for a better fan than the one that came with my retail CPU but which will work with the stock heatsink?
