Hi,

I have shortlisted Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop for purchase. All the reviews that I have read from various URL's give the laptop a high overall rating. However a number of reviews have rated the quality of sound and speakers as very poor.

Can you please share your advise/opinion about the sound and speaker quality of the selected laptop and your suggestion/recommendation whether I should purchase it or consider some other brand.

Thanks.

Basically, except for a select few laptops, all laptops have fairly poor speakers. You basically have to. You've already got enough components and heat in there, you don't need a speaker amp too. Whenever getting a laptop, just bank on having to get a good pair of headphones, maby even headphones with an external amp for higher quality if you want it. Unless your laptop says its got a HQ audio system, like from Altec Lansing, you're not gonna get any good ones.

DJs got it, even the DTRs with multiple speakers and subwoofers are still pretty bad compared to a $40-50 2.1 speaker setup, or headphones. I personally prefer cans to earbuds for my serious music enjoyment, I just feel that they give a richer, deeper sound for the $.

Hi heymrdj and TheStu,

The core reason for my post was that I learned that the quality of sound in this laptop is very bad. I was/am hoping that some owner of this laptop can share his/her comments regarding my post.

I know that most of teh laptops offer average sound quality and that's understandable. However I am concerned becuase the sound quality of this laptop is somewhat rated as terrible/very bad

Will be eagerly waiting for some more feedback and ideally from an exisiting owner of Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop.

Regards.

Ah, misread you there then. You may want to check out Notebookreviews.com, since I think most people on here, if they have a lenovo, they have a thinkpad.
