Personally I'd go with R9 390 just for the possibility of 1440p FreeSync. 8GB VRAM also helps, some rare games on 1080p may max out the VRAM on GTX 970, and on 1440p the extra VRAM of R9 390 is a definite benefit.

As for noise, the Sapphire Nitro cooler is pretty quiet, and like the MSI Gaming cooler it's turned off at low loads / when idling.

MSI: 30 dBa load http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_970_Gaming/26.html
Sapphire: 34 dBa load https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Sapphire/R9_390_Nitro/22.html

I ended up ordering the gigabyte gtx 970 gaming g1. I couldn't wait any longer (1,5 month).

Thank you all for your support and advice!

What do you mean "1,5 month"? Surely it wouldn't have taken that long to get the MSI Gaming 970, or Sapphire Nitro 390.
