TimidOCer,
Though your post is a little off topic, I will tell you that I have had multiple good experiences with the Delta 50X CD ROM drive on many of the desktops I have built for people. Just my little bit of input.

i have one and according to CDSpeed it stinks, maxes at 8x on most CDs however a very few do get up to the 48x the drive is rated for (these are really 48x drives, not 50x):

Product : 50X CDROM
Firmware version : 1.10

Buffer size : 128 KB
Maximum read speed : 8448 KB/sec (48 X)
Read CD-R : yes
Read CD-RW : yes
Read CDDA : yes
CDDA accurate : yes
Read R-W : yes

gathered from the "Drive Check" feature in CDSpeed.

copying CDs to the hard drive stinks, the CDs i've copied take ~10 minutes to copy to the hard drive, which is approximately the 8x the CDSpeed reported.

however, for the price (free) I can't complain, but I wouldn't pay over $20 for this drive.

I read that the Delta 50X CD-ROM drive has a problem with the copy protection system on Diablo 2 CDs, and that the next patch of Diablo 2, 1.04, is supposed to fix the problem.

Doing a speed test in EZ CD I get the following:

Small Files: 3x
Large Files: 16x
Read: 18x
Audio Extraction: 7x

Which is nearly the same as my cheapo BTC 48x and very similiar to my Pioneer 36x. It is a little noisy, but it is going into a system where it won't be used that much.
