Lemon law

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well maybe exactly the point Red Dawn, Ole O'Donnel has been a serial abuser of campaign finance laws for at least four years running, and now that the jig is finally up and the Feds
seek, they cannot help but find, find, and find the overwhelming evidence in spades.

But given our white collar criminal laws, there is many a slip between overwhelming evidence and conviction in court between cup and lip.

Look at how long it took to finally get Jefferson out of office and into a jail cell, the blogo conviction looked like a slam dunk but was not, not too sure about Delay, and as for Kenny boy Lay, he died an innocent man because his conviction was on appeal when he had a fatal heart attack.

Right now ole O'Donnel is in that limbo period called stall mode, and any defense will do.

The only question remaining is how long can O'Donnel stall out her inevitable day in court when all her imaginary defenses will meet reality.

Kinda reminds me of that old song, "When your hot your hot, when you are not you are not."

I don't understand why this stuff is illegal, or even unethical. Why can't you use campaign contributions to pay for your rent? The law basically nullifies the principle of modern representative democracy, that ordinary people run for office. You can't have a full time job while campaigning, so the result of these "ethics" laws is that you must have accumulated enough wealth to pay for life expenses before running for office...

Can someone explain why it's unethical, and not necessary to the principle of Republic?

I 100% agree with you.

However, it's still illegal, so get the laws changed first.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse.

Not an apologist.
Do you prefer Chief of Rationalization?
What I mean by a "career politician" is someone who devotes his life to knowing all the intricate rules, which for anyone else is a very large task and relies largely on the trust of a lot of people around you to also do the right thing every time.
Someone who has made three runs at the United States Senate should certainly know the rules involved. It is only be the grace and wisdom of the voters of the State of Delaware that Ms. O'Donnell is not already a career legislator.

What could possibly go wrong in a system where political contributions are directly converted to personal income?

If you like the current system where wealthy contributors influence legislation by easing the run for office, imagine how much better it could be when that money goes straight into a legislator's pocket.

Sounds a lot better than only rich people who can afford a year's expenses without income being able to run for office.

Can you afford a year long vacation?

So is this investigation a political witch hunt and an abuse of power by the federal government? Looks like it to me. I say broaden the investigation and investigate people on all sides while you are at it.

I agree completely. Every candidate of any party against whom their campaign workers have made credible accusations of diverting campaign contributions for personal use should be thoroughly investigated.
Can you supply us with a list of those candidates?

At the moment, it seems to start and end with Christine O'Donnell...
