Decided to install the latest Linux Kernel and OS and see what it offered. Aside from gaming, I have every feature I have in windows up and running. Plus, having kernel access and terminal abilities is awesome to say the least. Took about three days to get it all going the way I like, but bam, now two OS's to choose from, woohoo.

In my sig, but here it is again

P4 3ghz
2gb ram
80gb x 3 HDD
Audigy 2
6800 GT
hp f1903 lcd x 2

still like windows GUI more, but stability and level of access are better in linux

Anbody get wine to work well, I mean it works but most of the time games don't. Other then that, things are cool. Just mount the ntfs partition and use my videos and mp3s from the windows partition. Just got azureus working, woohoo.

what about shockwave? only thing stopping me from using linux on a backup machine is no native shockwave support. cross-over costs ~50 bucks(last time i checked, anyway), so i might as well spend an extra 20 or so and get winxp and avoid the hassle of no kids sites working.
