Yep, Crocop took a beating by Fedor. If there is someone better than Fedor right now, Im not sure who it is.

I've only seen highlights from that fight, so maybe I don't have the full picture, but it didn't seem like Cro Cop was all that close. Fedor seemed pretty dominant.

no one had gone that long with fedor, and fedor admitted that was his toughest match

At the end of the fight, CroCop came out looking alright- Fedor's face looked like he took a severe beating.

A lot of misinformation here and some good information though.
1. Fedor is the best MMA fighter in the world right now without a doubt
2. Royce Gracie would last 10 seconds with Fedor if he was lucky. Even Royce in his prime wouldn't last more than 30 seconds. When Royce fought, nobody knew about takedowns or BJJ.
3. CroCop would not take Fedor down b/c CroCop is a standup fighter, he has no reason to take anybody down. Fedor is nearly impossible to takedown and keep there though. And if you do take him down he can submit you from the bottom with an armbar or kimura.
4. Fedor is a class act.

I think everyone here agrees with what you just said. Crocop needs to keep a certain distance from fedor to launch those head kicks.

sorry if I used the wrong phrase. I meant "take down" as in "defeating."
My mistake for using an actual MMA phrase in that context!![]()

I think if Kevin Randleman was better at ground defense he could have beaten Fedor. That suplex he hit Fedor with was massive he just was unable to follow threw and when Fedor got him in a submission it was all over because Randleman doesn't have the best ground defense. That was an awesome match, the suplex was killer and for Fedor to recover from it was nothing short of a miracle.
CroCop MIGHT be able to take Fedor, 2 great fighters even if one is undefeated, the underdog still has a punchers chance.

ya, that suplex was crazy. i can't believe fedor wasn't paralyzed and actually recovered in about 2 seconds. the only thing i remember seeing that was just as scary is when bob sapp put the piledriver on big nog. could have killed the dude.

I don't think Randleman had a chance. Even with that suplex, it still looked like Fedor was in control.
The only time I can think of Fedor looking vulnerable was his match against Fujita where Fujita landed a solid punch and left Fedor with wobbly legs. Of course he recovered in 5 seconds and knocked Fujita out.

I remember that, Fedor got rocked but Fujita couldn't finish him. I like the Gracies but when they fought it was a different time, I just remember Sakuraba beating one of them just kicking one guy in the leg standing up.
The Fedor/Fujita match was the closest ANYONE has ever come to beating Fedor. Let me tell you, Fujita rocked the sh!t out of Fedor, but instead of keeping it standing Fujita, out of reflex, just took him down. If he would have kept it standing Fujita may have knocked Fedor out.Originally posted by: sisq0kidd

I saw the Cro Cop - Fedor match and it wasn't that close. It was just the fact that Fedor didn't land any of those jackhammer rights that would have ended it in a hurry. Cro Cop was constantly backpedaling to stay away from them and hoping to counterpunch when he needed distance. He never could snap off that kick to the head he wanted.
The Pride commentators even said the hardest hit they'd witnessed ringside was the headshot kick that Cro Cop delivered to Fedor in a match, and Fedor not only didn't shrug or shake it off, he simply plodded forward to throw another right. My guess is Fedor's greatest challenge would be against his brother who is just as big but not yet as polished.
FYI, Cro-Cop knocked Fedor's brother out.Originally posted by: lyssword

Actually, he can easily win vs his bigger brother, I've seen a sambo (judo/wrestling type) of match between them, and Fedor won.
