What song is used in the beginning when the still pictures come up. I've heard it in a movie soundtrack but can't place it.

PS-Fedor is the best ever

He is amazing. Not necessarily the best EVER, but the best that is around right now. It's just funny though how he looks like your average, run of the mill Russian guy. I would think to be more afraid of the "Russian" guy in the old Rambo movies :p

I'm starting to think Fedor is the best out there and the best there ever was. In the history of MMA, I can't think of one single person that can beat him.

Everyone was dominant in their time, but taking into consideration how much MMA has evolved, I think he may very well be the best ever.

On a side note: RIP Pride :(

Another side note: I thought GSP was going to have a whole dynasty. He just didn't look right against Matt Serra. I'm almost certain he would beat him in a rematch.

I like GSP, I ain't a fan of that daam accent but he's fun to watch. He rocked Matt Hughes even if he did hit Matt with a couple kicks that were questionably close to the family jewels

He's is one of the MOST explosive fighters I've ever seen. He goes from 0 to 1000 in the blink of an eye.

Faced between certain death and fighting him, I'd choose certain death. At least certain death might not be that painful before I died.

He's by far the best lb for lb fighter out there although i think Shogun is more fun to watch

Undefeated (TK loss was a cut by illegal blow, but because it was a tournament someone had to win). Nuff said!

i dont think so. Fedor is versed in striking and jiu jitsu. He destroyed Big Nog and Nog is arguably the best grappler in MMA.

And the funny part is, he never goes out there to hurt someone permenantly. Even if the opponent is talking smack and saying how he's going to hurt fedor.

He shows good sportsman ship, he immediatly releases submissions once the other person taps.

Gracie vs. Fedor would make for one helluva fight. Watching those old Gracie fights, I was sure he wouldn't win in plenty of matches, but he had a certain way of making much bigger men make one tiny mistake over the course of a 5 minute round and it was over 10 seconds later. Poor Severn never had a chance ..

I think strikers in gracie's time wasn't as good defending the take down. Fighters today are much more balanced and know to protect their weaknesses

Yea, a lot fighters back in Gracie's prime did not know anything about defending on the ground or jiu jitsu at all.

Now, its almost impossible for anyone to be at the top of their weightclass without being well rounded. (unless you're a UFC heavyweight, thank god Randy fixed that)

Excellent point there, my friend. Baxck in the beginning, many UFC fighters were not even remotely prepared to avoid the takedowns. Now, the takedown avoidance is practically an art form. Its amazing how a guy could practically have his whole body off of the ground and the other guy cannot get him down. Sweet.

As for Fedor, his counter-attacks are probably the most thought out and smart moves of any fighter today. Hell Randleman souplaised him right on top of his head and you can see Fedor immediately rolling out of it and slapping the kimura on. The Gracies used to fight like he does. I call it the "Dead Eyes". You watch Royce or Fedor fight and it looks like they arent even interested in the fight. All the while they are four or five moves ahead of what is going on in the present.

Anyone see last weeks Pride on FSN? They had Josh Barnett and Big NOg fighting in last years HWGP(I think) Two heavyweights just going at it for the full 3 rounds. I swear I never saw as many countermoves in that fight as I have in my life. Great fight.

Found it on the 'tube: here.

If you have about twenty minutes, watch it. Dont fast forward through it. You need to appreciate a fantastic fight.

Peace

What I find impressive about him is his ability to turn the ferocity on and back off again. I forget what match it was, but he got a guy in a horrible arm bar, had to really pull to get the guy to submit. When the ref broke it up, Fedor purposefully moved the guys arm carefully back into normal position and held it there and made sure he hadn't hurt the guy too much. I'd hate to be near him when he's mad.

I've only seen highlights from that fight, so maybe I don't have the full picture, but it didn't seem like Cro Cop was all that close. Fedor seemed pretty dominant.
