Ship date May 25, 2007
Estimated delivery May 26, 2007

Destination MCLEAN, VA
Service type Home Delivery
Pieces 1
Weight 8.0 lbs.

I ordered it from Buy.com, picked the free budget shipping which should be FedEx Ground in this case. One, standard ground service doesn't qualify for weekend delivery. Two, the Buy.com office is apparently in California, so the only way that delivery date would be met is with some super express-overnight-expedited-cross country-cargo jet service :p.

Anyone see this type of error before? How long does it take for it to get corrected? I need to plan next week around when I get that package.

1. Fedex Ground Home Delivery delivers on saturdays

2. Buy.com has warehouses all over the U.S.

3. It is not an error

edit: You probably only got the package/shipping data but no origin scan?
For example Newegg is based in CA too, and their return address is in CA yet they ship from TN and NJ also

When you do get it... it would probably be in same state or next state origin for next day

Again this all estimated data. So when it gets officially scanned in the system... it could be bumped to Monday.

They deliver on Saturdays for no extra charge. Also, Buy.com doesn't keep a warehouse full of everything they sell. You're probably getting it drop shipped from a manufacturer or wholesaler somewhere within 150 or 200 miles of McLean.

Oh...

I could have sworn I've never gotten any packages on the weekend other than from the post office. Guess I just don't have many FedEx shipments that coincide with a weekend. Thanks for info guys.

Not bad for free shipping, I have to admit.

As stated above, FedEx Home delivers Satudays. And Buy.com has plenty of DC's around the US...there's probably one located near you. (There's one 10 minutes away from my parents house in Dallas)

I think you self pwned yourself in this thread. :)

I love you.

I've got a laptop that's being shipped from FL via FedEx showing Saturday as the "expected delivery date" but I wasn't sure if they actually delivered on Saturdays.

I guess I'll be sticking around the house tomorrow...

If I had to guess, I'd say that it's probably coming out one of Buy.com's east coast warehouses or a wholesaler. I don't know that Corsair has facilities outside of Fremont (of course, I've been blatantly wrong before, so don't hold me to that :p ).

Well I finally have my answer: the origin scan just showed up -- LEWISBERRY, PA. Probably just barely within my 1-day shipping zone. Looks like they have a distribution center in PA somewhere. Good to know for future reference I suppose.

I agree. It's get even better though. The Corsair PSU was on sale and Buy.com e-mailed me an additional 7% off coupon for Memorial Day. Now that's the kind of spam I can live with.

Since it says coupon is reusable, and it says "Don't forget to forward this email to your friends!" I'll assume its safe for me to post with no bannage needed....

Awww, lucky. You probably shop there more often than me. I didn't even get a reusable coupon, just a one-time one :( . Well, I shouldn't complain though...this is still better service than I've received for a long time.

Actually, I think it's been a pretty long time since I've bought anything there... maybe I got 10% because of how long I've been receiving their spam lol

EDIT:

Oh wait, I ordered something in April of 06...
hmm who knows...
when I logged in to my account there, it showed the 7% coupon..
also $5.75 dvd special, over 90 movies to choose from...
hmmm...

So does that mean the 10% coupon was a typo? I think I got the DVD special too, but a few days ago, in their daily deals spammage e-mail.

EDIT: I just tried your "friends coupon" and it seemed good to me (but I didn't complete the Checkout). It'd be hilarious if you combined the 7%, 10%, and Google Checkout new account credit  (I doubt they'd let you use more than one at a time though), plus add rebates.

Right.

Wrong...Fedex Home Delivery (a ground service) delivers Tuesday through Saturday.

I hate when they code my packages Home Delivery...my mailing address is a business and I select business from their screens, but many merchants I think do all ground as Home Delivery to be safe from owing fees for mislabelled packages.

Now this is getting scary...
I wouldn't have been surprised if a few ATers here were at UVA the same time as me...but a high school with only a few hundred students, that's a different story. What are the odds .
