<Rant mode on>

Ok, time once again for another shipping rant. I placed an order with Newegg Tuesday night for their A64 2800+ deal, and opted to go with the Express Saver Shipping, since the last 6 times I've used that, FedEx has always managed to get it here in 2 days, instead of the advertised 3. Well, what do you know, the tracking status for the package is that it's being held, as it's "not due for delivery" even though it's been sitting in the local distribution point since Thursday morning. So now, I have to wait until Tuesday to recieve my package, since FedEx has Monday off, making a 2 day wait a 6 day wait.:| I know I should have opted for 2 day shipping if I really wanted it in 2 days, but in the 6 times I've gone through Newegg, and the times before using Saver from other sources, FedEx has never intentionally held on to a package. I've come to expect this from UPS, but not FedEx. :|

They have done that to me a few times too and once on a holiday just like you but I look at their track record and they have been great to me so in the end I can't really complain. I like them infinitely more than UPS.

Yeah, they put it in the truck, drive it all over town and probably right by your house. I hate this one!

Is it THAT hard to drive to your local FedEx station to pick it up?

If you wanted it there today, you could have paid to have it there today... You admitted as much... This rant is useless.

Well, when you're a college student that doesn't have a car, yes.;)

PS Dingle, I can one-up you. The last couple of times, they don't mention if it's out for delivery until it's been delivered :roll:

Fedex > UPS

I can't complain, they've always gotten my stuff from Newegg way faster than advertised and they don't dent it like UPS (oops) does.

Grr, they tried to deliver the package during the lunch hour; everyone was at lunch of course, so they took it back with them. What option am I looking for on their voice menu, to tell them that they need to not deliver it during the lunch hour?

Figures, if you say "more", the voice system gives you more choices, including "change shipping information".:p Hopefully they actually get this right tomorrow.

PS In retrospect, paying for 2-day wouldn't have helped. They always deliver at the same time, so they would have missed it Friday too, pushing it to today. The FedEx guy knows not to deliver it during lunch in the summer, so they must have a sub or something on our route :|
