FedEx package missing

I ordered a cassette adapter to use with my Dell DJ in the car -- I ordered it from Buy.com with FedEx shipping it. A week or so goes by, I check the tracking status. Apparently "F. Rontdoor" signed for the package two days earlier, which is news to me. 😉

Thankfully buy.com accepted my claim and another one is on the way -- hopefully this time, they'll leave it in the plastic bin I have outside my front door specifically for this purpose. I'm not too worried about theft, but I do live right in front of a bus stop and having a package sitting out in the open is just asking for trouble, heh. (Before you ask, no, I don't have my signature on file w/ FedEx)

Any suggestions for a way to prevent stuff like this in the future? I was considering posting a sign requesting that they use the bin, but that seems kinda tacky.

Just make a sign that says "Please dont let F. Rontdoor sign for my packages- he always looses them."

Fedex farked up my shipment from Buy.com too. I had two packages coming from Buy.com that were supposed to be delivered yesterday. But left at the same time, but only one arrived. Then I saw this yesterday on package tracking for the second package:

WTF. You deliver one but can't find the address for the other?? Riiight. I called and they're "investigating"

That sucks, up until now I've only had good experiences with FedEx.

Ah, well, hopefully this time the package will be signed for by P. bin Lastic.

I once had an Old Navy (via Amazon) package delivered by FedEx and it was signed for by "O. OFFICE". I checked with my apt. leasing office and FedEx had not even come that day. ]
Filed a claim and they got a new one sent out to me... later found out the first one was delivered to a complex across the street.

USPS never delivered a monitor to me. Stupid ppl say they dont see it in the local office.
how you NOT find a big box?

That's what I think actually happened. The bus stop that's in front of my house isn't that busy, so it would just make more sense that they delivered it to the wrong house. Oh, well, I guess one bad shipment out of however many isn't that bad and hey, buy.com accepted my claim. I wasn't sure if they would or not (and frankly, it's just a $10 adapter, basically it's just the principle of the thing at this point).

some dude from TX. Bought a SUN monitor from him. I know he shipped it cuz I was tracking it via the web and it said it arrived in Philly. Called the local office and they stated it's NOT there.

I called the guy who sold it to me and he sent out another one. Got to me in three days!

But yes, I would prefer UPS/FedEX
