Okay, I live in south new jersey. Newegg's new warehouse is is north jersey. I am looking at my tracking number, and it says my package left the NJ warehouse, but just arrived at sort facility in Memphis, TN

WTF??

It's the same thing that happens if I mail a letter to Hillsboro (the next town over) via USPS. It gets sent to a main mail sorting facility somewhere else in the state. I'm assuming Portland, but still... 30 miles to Portland only to come 25 miles back to Hillsboro. Main processing facilities PWN J0O.

It costs a tad more to use UPS. Oh well, at least it saved you or NewEgg a couple bucks doing it through FedEx.

You're right about the fed-ex thing, it was nearly 6 in the morning, i had just gotten up for work... but still, new jersey to Tennesee to back to new jersey is alot of unnecessary gas.

for one package yeah..but for thousands its no.

the reason being the cost of the transportation is already part of the equation..hence the marginal cost of taking one more package that way is minimal. Effectively fedex isnt loosing out by having it go to teh main sort faciility in Tennessee.

Memphis is their main sort facility/hub. Their infrastructure is setup to maximize cost reduction. It wouldn't have been cheaper to specially handle your package just because it was closer. Everything is sorted together as a cost issue.

you should still get it by the promised date no matter what the tracking says. Call Fedex up - they'll sort it out.
